Jed Smith has worked for and with notable cinematic and musical talents as diverse as Lionsgate, New Line, Dimension, Macy Gray, Carmen Rizzo, Paul Oakenfold, BT, Dido, Ladytron, Comedy Central, Chiat-Day, Six Degrees Records, Amp Fiddler, Electronic Arts, High Voltage, JunkieXL, Cirque du Soleil, Wim Wenders, David Arquette, Wes Craven and numerous others.
His work has been in Hollywood films such as The Bank Job, The Mist, The Tripper, Harold and Kumar 2, Pledge This!, Cursed, Thirteen, and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, as well television series such as The OC, Grey's Anatomy, Windfall, Commander in Chief, and Reno 911! and featured in independent films screened at the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals, as well as in other domestic, European and Korean Film festivals. His sound design and short subject compositions have been featured in adverts for companies including Mercedes, Target, Samsung, AT&T, Bacardi, and HP. His award-winning custom-made instruments and performance sound installations have been featured at Soundwalk, the 2nd City Council art gallery, and twice at the Redcat, the performing arts space for the Disney Concert Hall.
Jed is also the founder of Betafish Studios – A full-service music production house based in Los Angeles. Services include music licensing, music production, composing to picture, music supervision, music editing, and sound design. Betafish Studios has been hired by such notable clients as Sony, 2k, Electronic Arts, Lionsgate, New Line, Dimension, Universal Music Group, BMG, SyFy Network, Microsoft, Vanity Fair, Target, Mercedes, Samsung, AT&T, Bacardi, and Cirque du Soleil.
